About Me - Being an Attachment Parenting Mama and Loving It!
Hi, my name is Christine - my husband and I have been married for 25 years and I'm an attachment parenting mama to two beautiful children.
I love this model of parenting - growing my kids full time - breastfeeding, baby wearing and everything else that goes with it.
My husband and I had been married for 15 years when I was first pregnant.
I tend toward healthy eating habits usually but carrying another life within me prompted me to try to have the best
healthy pregnancy diet
possible - although I do have a sweet tooth.
However, one thing I knew from the start - I wanted to grow my own child.
What I mean is - I wanted to be there as my daughter's nurturer, comforter, educator every day - I didn't want to place her in someone else's care. I wanted to be there to experience and celebrate with her all her milestones, not hear about them after the fact.
And so, as our little girl came into the world (we had planned
natural child birth
but it didn't work out with my first) and we were introduced to each other I fell in love and I knew I wanted to be with her and care for her needs - physical and emotional even if that meant there had to be sacrifices.

we started immediately. That was incredibly difficult for both of us! The first night I was home with my babe I sat in a rocking chair all night and slept a total of 2 hours put together.
My little girl was so tired and yet continued the attempt to breastfeed all night and screamed if I tried to put her down to let her sleep by herself. What a start!
It's funny because many people think that for women who continue breastfeeding their older toddlers it's always been easy. But that's not true.
As we continued on the journey called parenting sometimes our bed was a
- depending on the needs.
And, I wore my babies all the time - they loved being carried close and I loved it too. Once in a while, if my little guy is very tired or not feeling well he will ride in our

As my first baby turned a year old and grew into a toddler I started to stand out as very different in my parenting.
The majority of other moms who had also breastfed stopped. Baby wearing stopped for most and many moms went back to work.
My babes, on the other hand, were nowhere near ready to stop breastfeeding and being carried and I wasn't ready to trade them for the niceties in life.
One day I came across an article about "attachment parenting". It was talking about me! I had never heard of it or the
before, but had been parenting this way for almost 5 years - instinctively.
Living on a single income is difficult, made even more difficult when my husband lost his job. I began to wonder if there was any sort of work I could do from home to supplement our family's income.
As a full-time mamma I didn't have a lot of free time - just nap time each day. My determination to be here for my kids first meant I needed something flexible with no strict hour requirements each week and no specified time block that I would be required to hold to.
I began scouring the internet for jobs that a stay at home mom could do. I was overwhelmed and confused. I found lots of scams.
I also found jobs that I just didn't understand well enough to even get started. I am not at all a "techie" sort of mamma - and the learning curve was just too great without step-by-step instructions.
Then I found Site Build It! It is a company that walks you through how to make a website about something you know and love. It gives you step-by-step instructions on what to do first, next and so on.
SBI offers countless tools and resources that help you learn the ins-and-outs of how to do it, and offers forums where you can ask questions and get answers from real people. That's what I needed because I am a big question asker.
It was a big decision for me. I did research on it and more research - I couldn't just jump into it. Something that really helped me was watching this Video Tour. It answered a lot of my questions.
Then we did it. Creating this website with Site Build It! allows me to work any number of hours per week, at any time of the day or night.
As our kids keep growing and the ebb and flow of our schedule keeps changing, I am able to continue to keep them as my priority and still work on my website.
You can contact me if you have further questions about SBI or if you would like to speak with someone from Site Build It! you can contact them directly.
Putting together this website is a labor of love.
And, I delight to share it all. These are carefully researched findings that are supported by doctors, other professionals, and real life moms.
I love researching to help my kids further. I love reading to help myself with parenting the best I can.
My passion is attachment parenting - being there to grow my kids, and I hope to share this passion with you in a way that benefits you.
